I'm currently on spring break of my post-bacc year! Unfortately, I don't have any awesome vacation/party plans like I did last year. During this post-bacc year, I have a new perspective of college, I appreciate and apply a lot more effort than I did in my undergrad years; not to say that I didn't apply effort during the last four years of college, I just feel I have a more mature outlook when it comes to my studies and with that said, my spring break has been spent catching up on physics 2, microbiology (I have two lab tests when I return to school) and medical terminology.
Since we all know the saying about all work and no play, when I need a mental break, I either watch an episode I DVR'd or read. Recently I've been reading How Doctors Think and I've been loving it. It really changed my perspective not only as a future healthcare professional, but as a patient. It's a must read!

My advisor told me that every pre-med should constantly be reading books about what it's like to be doctor. Books about the everyday duties and emotional consequences of the profession. Books that you've recently read or that inspired you are also great talking points in an interview and you would hate to be caught off guard if asked "what book(s) have you read lately?" With help from him and some that I found on my own, I comprised a list of books that I think that all pre-medical and medical students, or just people interested in the medical profession should take a look at!

Also let me know if you have some suggestions of books I don't mention! I'm an avid reader and I love a good book in my free time! (*I starred my favorites)
